Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya has said that she wants to give their marriage a second chance and become a “happy family once again.” She had filed for divorce from the actor in May 2020.
“I had tested COVID-19 positive a few weeks ago and couldn’t be with my children. During this time, I saw a different side of Nawazuddin, one of a caring father and husband. While I couldn’t be with our children, he took care of them and did everything for them. He looked after them so well,” she told The Indian Express. “He would also check on how I am doing as I was unwell. He has really impressed me and proved that he is such a good father to our children. The kids also love him, so I want us to be a happy family once again.”
Aaliya, who has now tested negative for recently, added, “He (Nawazuddin) took such good care of us all through the lockdown. Maybe he never came across something like this in his life, so he never got the opportunity to take responsibility. But, now things are different, he is supportive and caring and loving towards us.”
She added, “He is so busy with work and yet, he is making time for us. So, we have decided to keep all our differences aside and are looking forward to a beautiful future together for the sake of our children.”
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star and Aalia have two children together, an eleven-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.

Superstars do fake acting: Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui believes all aspiring actors need to make sure they have their own unique styles while entering showbiz. He says that if they intend to copy superstars, they will not be liked by the audience.
"I would just like to say from my experience that you should not lose your originality. These superstars do fake acting, so don't get carried away with it. I want to see your original acting. If you are acting like a superstar, why would I watch you? If you show something good, something that is interesting and original, I would want to see that," he told Times of India recently.
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star added that stars are now moving to OTT because films are not being released in theatres. "In the beginning, it was because of cause and passion. Now, because of the lockdown and films not releasing in theatres, these big stars are coming to OTT. That is not a good thing. Now there are big OTT platforms that are taking these big stars. Why didn't these stars come before?" he questioned.
Siddiqui has made his music video debut in B Praak's new song Baarish Ki Jaaye, which released recently. “My experience was very different. I have never done it (a music video) before and I never even paid attention. But they got two to three options and we talked. I like the work of B Praak and this one I liked in the first go,” he said. “Video director Arvindr Khaira shot in Hyderabad. We shot it in two days. I have never danced and have this mental blockage against it. I was scared, too. But I rehearsed and it went off well.”

It gives me confidence: Nawazuddin Siddiqui on being nominated for ‘credible’ awards
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has recently been nominated for an International Emmy Award for his performance in the comedy-drama film Serious Men, which deals with the issue of caste politics, opened up about the significance of awards for him in an interview.
According to the Times of India, the actor explained that the awards only matter when they come from a credible source. He said, “The place the award is coming from matters the most. That gives a sense of motivation to do good work...If the award function has credibility only. This is coming from the Emmys, they have worked for their credibility. They have promoted good cinema.”
When asked whether he felt validated by the Emmy acknowledgement, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor revealed, "More than validation, it gives me confidence and credibility. It makes [the belief] stronger that you are not in a rat race.” He added, “It makes you feel strong, as the work you are doing or choosing - you are on the right track."
The actor further shared that he was caught off guard by the nomination, saying that he didn’t expect it to happen.
Directed by Sudhir Mishra, the official synopsis of Serious Men reads, “Tormented with his 'under-privileged’ societal status, a father capitalizes on his son's newfound fame as a boy-genius. Little does he realize that the secret he harbours will destroy the very thing he loves the most.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui feels his comments about leaving OTT were exaggerated
In October this year, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared he feared for the future of the OTT space because the “same old money-minded producers” were taking control. He said that these people do not possess a know-how about good content and are selling the same formula repeatedly. Following his statement, the star received ample backlash from netizens and industry insiders alike.
Now, Nawazuddin has issued a clarification regarding the same, stating that his words were taken out of context. He even credited the digital space for his popularity, citing his hit projects including Sacred Games and Breathe. Nawazuddin was also seen in Raat Akeli Hai and Serious Men that released on digital platforms.
Clarifying his controversial statement in a conversation with India Today, Nawazuddin said, “I am doing a lot of films for OTT. I am sitting here because of Netflix. OTT platforms have given us all international recognition. We get to showcase our talent there for the whole world to see. In my statement, I was talking about some production houses that randomly make anything. It was taken out of context and my intention was never to say that I want to quit OTT. I just don’t want to do anything that looks like a serial.”
He continued, “I am made for this. That’s why I feel I am an escapist and can’t face real life. When I am shooting, I start feeling as if that world is real. In real life, I am a coward. When I am in my character, I can at least speak the truth through him. In real life, I can’t do that because a lot of things can happen,” he added.
Through his journey on the digital platform, Nawazuddin has been nominated at the International Emmy Awards twice. This year, he was nominated for his performance in the Netflix film Serious Men. Previously, he was nominated for his performance in Sacred Games. Besides his digital projects, Nawazuddin also has a few Bollywood movies in the pipeline too. These include Phobia 2, Bole Chudiyan and Kangana Ranaut backed Tiku Weds Sheru.

In pictures: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s lavish bungalow 'Nawab' in Mumbai
Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, best known for his roles in Sacred Games and Gangs of Wasseypur, has built himself an opulent towering new home in Mumbai. The images were first revealed when pictures from the Raat Akeli Hai actor’s housewarming party went viral online. His friends and fans were heaving praises for the minimalist Taj Mahal-esque vibe with its ivory colour at the house’s outlook.
According to the Hindustan Times, Siddiqui shared that he put a lot of thought behind each space. It took him a total of three years to complete the house and he had imagined the foundation to look like an image of his childhood home in Budhana.
Located on Yari Road in Mumbai, the opulent three-storey house is named in the memory of his late father, Nawab. On the outlook, the bungalow stands out for its largely ivory exterior with hints of sky-blue popping on the sides, open terraces, a huge veranda and long sheltered windows. With a long arch towering the entrance, a smaller royal looking wooden door welcomes you in the house. The gorgeous ivory combines perfectly with the warmth of sky blue.
Apart from that, the sitting area of Nawaz’s new house overlooks hues of brown from the walls and sides of the ceiling to the leather sofas and a sombre carpet. The overall vibe of the room is extremely minimal and yet soothing for the eye.
Fan of the old school architecture, another lounging space overlooks long almost room-size windows with folding chairs around a coffee table pointing at a flatscreen. The space looks like the best place to read while enjoying nature after a long day of work. From balconies to the pool area, the Serious Men star has kept everything minimal. The house at just the first glance speaks of comfort and warmth.
Speaking about the process behind his new house, Nawaz shared, “I was never for the idea that one must have a home of their own. Someone showed me the plot, so I thought let’s do it no harm. Things kept happening, and after I purchased it, I realised I had studied architecture and aesthetics too at National School of drama. I had also studied scenic design in my first year. I thought a lot about how it can be designed.” Giving in to minimalism, he shared, “my final concept was that the minimal it is, the more impact it will have."
Getting emotional about the process of building it from scratch, Nawaz sees it as his biggest achievement after struggling for so many years. “About the house, it’s where you come to relax, that’s how I got this created, for me to rest. I have used only three colours in the entire house, you won’t find a fourth colour anywhere- wooden, white and sky blue. There is a garden and a cabin where I will read my scripts, and think,” he added.
Nawaz will next be seen in an upcoming Kangana Ranaut production titled Tiku Weds Sheru.

According to a report by Zoom, Siddiqui intended to step out of the box through this role. "I have portrayed different interesting characters, but Haddi is going to be a unique and special one since I will be sporting a never-seen-before look, and it will also help me to push the envelope as an actor," the actor commented.
Talking about the film, the director Sharma said in a statement, "It's going to be a double whammy, as Haddi gives me the opportunity to collaborate with Nawazuddin. Our team hopes the motion poster piques the audience's interest as we are excited to dive deep into a new world. Can't wait to start filming".
Siddiqui's first look has stunned fans, with many saying the actor looks unrecognisable after the drastic transformation. In a hilarious turn of events, many even pointed out the likeness between the actor's transformation and The Kapil Sharma Show's Archana Puran Singhactor. Singhactor took the comparisons in stride and called it "a huge compliment to be compared to Nawaz in any way possible," as reported by Hindustan Times.
Siddiqui, who gained widespread praise for embodying Saadat Hasan Manto in the 2018 Manto and for his role in Netflix's Sacred Games, is all set to begin filming Haddi. The film is scheduled to be released in 2023.
